Root Canals are Sometimes Vital

Do you have a bacterial infection within your teeth? Dr. Chadwick Webster is delighted to offer an endodontic treatment to give you a painlessly happy smile. An endodontic treatment (also called a root canal) is used to remove infectious bacteria or inflamed pulp and replace it with a chemical called gutta-percha.

If you have a toothache, simply make an appointment with Dental Creations by calling 918-307-0307, so you can see Dr. Chadwick Webster. he can give you a checkup and carefully detect the reason for your pain. Though there are many possibilities, one is a pulp infection.

What is pulp? The pulp is an organic liquid solution comprised of clusters of arteries, veins, nerves and soft tissue situated inside the tooth. Its job is to carry blood into the tooth to keep its bond with the gums healthy. When pulp becomes too infected, it can deteriorate, and the infected tooth/teeth can fall out. If the pulp becomes contaminated, a root canal is recommended.

The treatment begins with the dentist administering an anesthetic to numb your gums and nerves. The dentist will then eliminate the pulp from the inside of your tooth and make a space to fill with gutta-percha (a chemical derived from a plant called gutta-percha). he will proceed to fill the space and then place a temporary or permanent crown on the top. If Dr. Chadwick Webster uses a temporary crown, then he will prepare a permanent crown to place on your tooth at a future appointment.
