Malocclusion, an improper fit, can cause many problems, ranging from headaches, migraines, and earaches, to teeth grinding, jaw pain, and limited oral function. When jaw joints become imbalanced because of improper occlusion, the condition is called TMJ disorder.
Dr. Webster finds the study of TMJ disorder fascinating. He approaches the condition with the philosophy of neuromuscular dentistry, which is the science of how jaws, nerves, muscles, and dental structures work together in harmony. Dr. Webster studies neuromusclular dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. At present, he treats malocclusion and TMJ disorder with various therapies, from orthodontics referrals to equilibration, or building up of back teeth to restore optimal occlusion.
